Got any questions?

Explore our helpful FAQ's answering your key questions about joining our Pilates studio.

What is Pilates Equipment and how does it differ from Mat Pilates?

Working with the guidance and resistance of the springs and the different features of the equipment will help you find better movement strategies, rather than relying on you figuring out if you’re doing it correctly. Each piece of equipment gives you different starting options meaning everyone can take part no matter what. It can offer support with rehabilitation or help you find ease of movement and quickly come out of guarding and pain. It teaches you how to move well instead of strengthening movement patterns that are misaligned.

Do I need prior Pilates experience to join equipment class?

No prior experience is necessary. Our small classes and experienced teaches will programme the classes for your individual needs and goals.

How many classes are recommended per week for optimal results?

We recommend 2-3 per week, consistency plays a key role in experiencing the full benefits of Pilates. That’s why we have set up our memberships to ensure you stay motivated and on track. We are invested in keeping you accountable for your practices (we all need it!). If you can’t make more than one session a week that’s no problem, as part of your membership you get access to our monthly online class that you can do at any time.

Do you offer introductory sessions where you can try the equipment and see if Pilates is for me?

Yes, this is why we have created the two intro passes see our new to studio page for full details. Still not sure than please pick up the phone and call Helen our Studio Manager on: 07788702622. She will be happy to chat through your goals, answer any questions, and even meet you at the studio for a show round if you prefer.

How do I get started?

To get started at The Pilates Station you must do the New to Studio classes or the New to Studio 1-1’s. Once you’ve had this introduction to out studio you can start your membership! You’ll receive plenty of support and advice from our teachers along the way.

Are there any specific clothing or footwear requirements for equipment classes?

Where what you are comfortable in but not too baggy so that we can see what’s going on when you move. Grip socks are recommended for hygiene and safety on the equipment.

How long is a class and what does a session involve?

All our sessions are 45 minutes long. They are planned to perfection to ensure you have a whole body experience focusing on breathing, strength, mobility and flexibility in equal measures. You will leave feeling taller, energised and ready to do life.
